End of the Season

On Tuesday night, the CVNHB was honored to play for the residents of the Lutheran Home East in Hickory. Our program was all Christmas tunes. Today we had the honor of playing for the residents of Abernethy Laurels in Newton. The program was a mixture of Patriotic tunes and Christmas tunes, but mostly Christmas. I don't know who enjoys these performance more - the residents or us! As much as we enjoyed it, there sure was a lot of clapping, foot tapping, and singing going on in the audience. It was heart warming. We were truly as blessed by them as they were us.

Wednesday's (today) performance marks the end of the Fall/Winter season for the band. The season began in September and ran for 15 weeks. Our next session, Winter/Spring, will start off with an information session on Wednesday, January 11. This is where anyone interested in joining the band can come and get all the particulars and even hear us play. The full season starts on Wednesday, January 18. Come Join Us!!

Many thanks to each and every band member for all of your hard work. Attending rehearsals, performances, and all the home practicing.

Thank you for those who helped direct during the optional "on our own" summer session, to Ronnie Hawkins who jumped in and directed during our director's recent injury, to Pat Jenkins who keeps the coffee coming, and to everyone who brought goodies to go with that coffee.

A very, very special thank you to our director, Leonard Allman, who even through a recent injury, just keeps on going. Thank you Len for your patience and diligence.

Wishing each and every one a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
