A Thank You Note

I received a Thank You card yesterday from the RPM Wood Finishes Group regarding our performance at the Lutheran Home East in Hickory on December 13. Here is the note in its entirety:

"Greetings,

We, RPM Wood Finishes Group, want to hank you for your beautiful service and music. The presentation was great and we are blessed to have been able to share that with you all. We hope this is the start of a great relationship!

Again, we thank you and Merry Christmas.

Sincerely,

RPM Community Service"

Juliann Albers (from RPM) also mentioned in an email to me that us "taking time out of their schedules and doing such a wonderful job...The residents really enjoyed your music and one in particular directed from the back of the room. Good thing you didn't play any rock and roll...don't think you could have kept her contained."

I think we all know who that was - she was precious! Here are some pictures they sent:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! Looking forward to playing again next year. Stay safe!

End of the Season

On Tuesday night, the CVNHB was honored to play for the residents of the Lutheran Home East in Hickory. Our program was all Christmas tunes. Today we had the honor of playing for the residents of Abernethy Laurels in Newton. The program was a mixture of Patriotic tunes and Christmas tunes, but mostly Christmas. I don't know who enjoys these performance more - the residents or us! As much as we enjoyed it, there sure was a lot of clapping, foot tapping, and singing going on in the audience. It was heart warming. We were truly as blessed by them as they were us.

Wednesday's (today) performance marks the end of the Fall/Winter season for the band. The season began in September and ran for 15 weeks. Our next session, Winter/Spring, will start off with an information session on Wednesday, January 11. This is where anyone interested in joining the band can come and get all the particulars and even hear us play. The full season starts on Wednesday, January 18. Come Join Us!!

Many thanks to each and every band member for all of your hard work. Attending rehearsals, performances, and all the home practicing.

Thank you for those who helped direct during the optional "on our own" summer session, to Ronnie Hawkins who jumped in and directed during our director's recent injury, to Pat Jenkins who keeps the coffee coming, and to everyone who brought goodies to go with that coffee.

A very, very special thank you to our director, Leonard Allman, who even through a recent injury, just keeps on going. Thank you Len for your patience and diligence.

Wishing each and every one a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Update on our Leader

I have heard from Len and surgery for his dislocated patella (knee cap) is scheduled for 6:45am - yep - TODAY! Do not know the length of the stay or even which hospital but I'm assuming it's FRMC. Please keep Len in your prayers for a quick and complete recovery.

Welcome!

Hello fellow bandmembers. I'm not quite happy with how I have to post band news on Facebook so I've been in search of something else. Something that will allow everyone access without having to go through Facebook. I'm hoping I've found it. If videos cannot be posted here, this will not work either. Or maybe it will. I can post them to a secure channel on You Tube and then post the link here. Always a work in progress.
